"Sunrise Ridge"

This photo was taken in July of 2000. The cowboys were moving 300 head of cows & calves from the high coastal ranges, down to a lower elevation. It was dark when the photographer set up to catch the sunrise and the drive. What she caught was the sun rays coming through the trail dust.

After the photo was developed she found a surprise! Off in the far left corner an eagle was lifting off the oak trees and two more specks in the sky indicate more birds of prey were suddenly startled from their roosts as the cattle trailed down the canyon.

Accepted entry in a juried art show, the Lodi Spring Art Show at Woodbridge Winery by Robert Mondavi. Received Honorable Mention Award.
