Leroy is a working cowhorse on a California cattle ranch. He is depicted here at the end of a rope in a corral while working fall calves.
This photograph was taken in the Sierra Valley on the Duane Martin Livestock spread in October of 1999. The cowboy on board is an "ol' timer". He has worked several ranches in the west and makes for a great partner with Leroy. Just out of this scene is a large crew of cowboys and horses working 300-400 head of black cattle on a fall morning.
Enjoy this photograph as it depicts man's relationship with his horse! You can tell that Leroy enjoys his role in the ranching way of life.
Leroy won 2nd place at the San Joaquin County fair in the color category. Also won a photography contest with The International Library of Photography. Featured in a hardbound photography anthology, Cultured Creations. Can be viewed at www.picture.com You can use Leroy as a stock photograph, put him on a t-shirt, or coffee mug through this web site.
